History[]
This House was first created by a lowly king who wanted land with water in front of him, and lumber behind him. Thus, the land of Grimm’s Port was eventually established after some conflict amongst his family.
This later affected the house’s revenue, causing them to be a part of the fishing and lumber business. Despite the amount of work being placed into wealth, House Grimport is more than capable to hold it’s own in a conflict, evident by recent conflicts.
Although not to the length of House Whitehill, House Grimport have been vassals to House Bolton for many generations. It only seemed right as their land is so close to them, very able in protecting their east side. It is rumored that the current Lord Grimport has actually met with Roose Bolton only a few times before, apparently not much is needed to be said for the mutual understanding between their houses.
In a recent conflict, years before the War of the Five Kings, House Grimport had faced off against another house, House Talwell, who wanted their resources. With the backing of the Boltons, there was no doubt the Grimports decimated House Talwell. In retaliation of the quarrel, the Boltons allowed House Grimport to take one of their aggressors’ sons as a ward, to assure they wouldn’t think of doing so again later. Lord Kjar obliged, taking their youngest son as a ward, who is still there to this day.
In recent times, House Grimport took part of the War of the Five Kings, accepting the call to arms of Robb Stark, alongside the Boltons. Despite his age, Lord Kjar took up his own sword during the war, along with him were his two eldest sons.
The father and his sons took part on various battles during the war, before the fated the Red Wedding. Although he didn’t like the idea of killing a drunken enemy, his boys returning more or less the same feeling, Lord Grimport and his sons still took part in the massacre. Most, if not all the Grimports there don't speak much of the event, it's currently unknown if the father and his sons killed anyone noteworthy. With the Boltons now the power of the North, it would appear the Grimports have gained some leverage in these coming days.
